Approach

Leckie is not available as a bothy. A site visit reported in April 2024 found the estate building fully boarded and locked. The estate manager stated that it is a private building and should not have been presented as an open shelter. Do not enter it or rely on the nearby ruins, which have unstable and collapsed sections. Anyone crossing this ground should carry their own shelter and follow normal estate access guidance.

History

Leckie appears in older estate and settlement records as a maintained estate building north-east of Kinlochewe. It was included in some bothy guides and used informally, but the estate later closed and boarded it. No evidence was found that it was ever an MBA bothy or that the owner had formally opened it for overnight use.
