Mangurstadh Bothy is on private croft land at Mangersta on the west coast of Lewis. It must be booked in advance through the Linda Norgrove Foundation, with bookings opening no more than six weeks before a stay. The owners provide the final access instructions. The shelter holds at most three people and demand is high from spring to autumn. It has no electricity or running water, although visitors may use an outside toilet with water near the house. Do not arrive without confirming a date.

John and Lorna Norgrove built the stone and timber shelter into the Mangersta cliffs more than thirty years ago. It began as a personal project and gradually became available to visitors. After their daughter Linda was killed during humanitarian work in Afghanistan in 2010, the family established the Linda Norgrove Foundation. Stays remain free, but donations support the Foundation's work with women and children in Afghanistan.
