History
Tighachrochadair was an outlying farmstead connected with seasonal grazing in Gleann Goibhre. Archaeological survey found several phases of settlement and two buildings that still had corrugated roofs in 2021. Nineteenth-century records name James McRae as the gamekeeper at Tighachrochadair. Later records connect the house with stalker Donald Ross, who died in 1951. The name contains the Gaelic chrochadair, meaning "hangman", although no evidence was found that an executioner lived there.
