History
Duinish stands close to the gatehouse and tunnel works of the Tummel hydro-electric scheme. An inscription on the nearby valve house records the tunnelling project of the 1930s. The available sources do not establish whether the cottage predates that work, who occupied it or when it began to be used as a bothy.
